Inflation target remains unchanged – Riksbank’s Ingves

Riksbank Governor Stefan Ingves has argued that there is no reason to change the inflation target, adding that consumer prices have been trending upwards on a gradual fashion and are expected to continue that way.

Ingves has also advocated for a gradual strengthening of the Krona and defended the effectiveness of the current QE programme, reiterating the readiness of the Nordic central bank to ease further in case of need.

SEK is trading on a firmer note today following yesterday’s fresh 2016 lows vs. the single currency above the 9.7600 handle.
