Scotland: ready for another referendum?
Scottish First Minister and SNP Chief Nicola Sturgeon said she is preparing a bill for a second referendum on independence from the United Kingdom. The bill could be published next week and it is contemplated as a debate instead of a rerun of the 2014 vote.
Sturgeon advocated for Scottish citizens to reconsider the question of independence, particularly following the UK intentions to leave the European Union and in order to protect Scotland’s interests.
It is worth mentioning that according to a YouGov poll run in September, 50% of Scottish people are against another referendum, while around 62% voted to remain within the EU at the June referendum.
