Canada: New housing price index rises 0.2% in August

Canada's new housing price index rose 0.2% in August, Statistics Canada said Thursday, following a 0.4% increase the previous month. Market expectations were for a 0.3% gain.     

Over the 12 months to August, Canadian new house prices rose 2.7% down from 2.8% in July.
